I don't now if anyone heard but Yesterday there was a fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains and the wind was blowing so hard they were having a tough time controlling it. I am pretty sure its gone now.
We live about 20 to 30 min. from Santa Cruz and this morning I woke up in a panic my apartment was smelling like we had a campfire. My husband said "go back to sleep its just from the Santa Cruz fire". That was crazy to wake up to though!!!

wow, you guys are close!! be careful out there
Wow! Dustin and I went to Canada last year and on the way through Montana a helicoptor like that swooped right in front of us and dipped it's bucked into the lake. It's pretty amazing. So sad to see all that land burning.
Last summer was my first experience with the fires in southern california and it was pretty weird. I took a nap one Sunday afternoon and went to sleep with blue skies out, woke up two hours later and the sky was a dark grey, the sun was completely covered, a smoke smell was coming into our apartment and ash was falling everywhere outside. My first thought....that it was the end of the world!!! :) We ended up staying at my husbands grandmas house so we didn't have to breath in the smoke all night. But you're right it does smell like a big huge campfire!
Victoria! I miss you too! But what a great way to keep in touch. Your family is adorable...and congrats on the house! (I'm assuming that means you're not planning on moving back to Idaho?) :) Keep posting - I love it!
Vic- I am going to make one comment on all the posts you have put up the last little while...I love the Easter pics....Violet looks adorable of course....I am SO EXCITED about the house thing and have been scared to death about the fire thing so close to you!
